Where physicians and communities find each other
We take the time to understand physicians — and the clinics, hospitals, and communities looking for them — then introduce the right people to each other. Personally, confidentially, and at no cost to either side.
Canada doesn't have a shortage of physicians looking for the right practice, or communities looking for the right physician. It has a shortage of good introductions. Postings go unseen; opportunities get described badly; excellent doctors settle for "fine" instead of right. We sit in the middle — and close that gap, one introduction at a time.
Your next practice, chosen — not settled for
Finishing residency, considering a change, or exploring a move to Canada from abroad — we help you see your options clearly, without pressure and without cost.
Tell Us About Yourself →We start with your goals — practice style, community size, compensation model, family needs — not with a vacancy list. If we don't know of a fit, we say so.
Plain-language help understanding provincial college requirements and practice-ready pathways, including for internationally trained physicians. We don't replace the official bodies — we help you navigate them.
When we know of a clinic or community that genuinely fits, we connect you directly — and you take the conversation wherever you want it to go.
Schools, housing, spousal work, the honest realities of prairie winters — we've talked it all through, many times, with physicians and their families.
Your opening, in front of the right physician
Attracting a physician today takes more than posting a job. We help you present your opportunity well — and put it in front of physicians who are genuinely open to it.
Discuss Your Opening →We help you frame your role the way physicians actually evaluate it — scope, supports, call schedule, and what life in your community is really like.
When a physician in our network matches your need, we make the introduction and let you build the relationship directly. No middleman in your hiring.
Candid input on how your offer compares across provinces, and what's actually drawing physicians to communities like yours right now.
Retention matters more than recruitment. We stay in touch after introductions are made — because a placement that doesn't last helps no one.

You take it from there
Interviews, visits, contracts, and credentialing happen directly between you — with us reachable in the background.
We're a connection and guidance service, not a staffing agency. We refer physicians and healthcare employers to each other; every hiring decision, agreement, and regulatory step remains between you and them.

Rooted in the Prairies, connected across Canada
Prairie Physician Link grew out of a simple observation: physicians and communities weren't struggling to find jobs or candidates — they were struggling to find each other.
We're a small team based in Edmonton, Alberta, working with physicians and healthcare organizations in every province and territory. Because our work happens over calls, video, and long-running relationships, geography never limits who we can help.
"We keep this practice deliberately personal. Fewer conversations, deeper ones — so that when we do refer a physician and an employer to each other, both sides can trust the introduction."
Our guidance is free and unbiased. We'd rather tell you an opportunity isn't right than talk you into it.
Exploring options shouldn't put your current position at risk. Nothing is shared without your say-so.
Licensure, compensation, community realities — we tell you what we know, and we say so when we don't.
No placement fees, no success fees, nothing recovered indirectly — from either side, ever.
We measure success in physicians still happy in their communities years later — not placements counted.
Asked often — answered honestly
Including the awkward ones. If yours isn't here, ask us directly — we answer everything.
Ask a QuestionAre you a recruitment agency?
Not in the traditional sense. Think of us as a connection and guidance service: we get to know physicians and healthcare employers, and when we see a genuine fit, we refer them to each other. Hiring decisions, contracts, credentialing, and licensing always remain directly between the physician and the employer.
Do physicians or employers pay anything for your help?
No — introductions and guidance are free for both sides, with no obligation at any stage. There are no placement fees, no success fees, and nothing recovered indirectly. Whether or not an introduction leads anywhere never changes what you pay us, which is nothing.
How can this be free? Who's behind it?
Prairie Physician Link is operated by Axis Immigration Consultants Ltd., an immigration consulting practice led by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC R515408). We offer the connection service free because it's how we give back to the profession we serve — and, candidly, because some physicians who meet us here later choose our firm for their immigration work. That choice is always yours: introductions are never conditional on hiring us for anything, immigration services are always under a separate written agreement with its own fees, and you're free to use any licensed representative — or none at all.
I trained outside Canada — can you help me?
Yes. We regularly work with internationally trained physicians. We'll help you understand how provincial college requirements and practice-ready assessment pathways apply to your background, and point you toward the provinces and programs where your qualifications are the strongest fit. We don't replace official bodies — we help you navigate them.
Which parts of Canada do you cover?
All of it — every province and territory. We know the Prairie provinces and Western Canada especially well, and we maintain relationships with clinics and communities coast to coast.
Where are you located? Can we meet in person?
We’re based in Edmonton, Alberta, and we work with physicians and employers entirely by email and video — which is exactly what lets us serve every corner of the country equally well. The easiest way to reach us, always, is hello@prairiephysicianlink.ca.
How long does the process take?
It varies widely. A practice-ready Canadian physician might receive introductions within weeks; an internationally trained physician working through licensure may be on a many-month journey. Either way, we'll give you an honest read on your timeline early on.
What happens after an introduction is made?
The relationship is yours. You and the other party handle interviews, site visits, negotiations, and paperwork directly. We stay reachable in the background for questions, and we like to check in after the dust settles.
